SBM Camp 2008 / Thursday, December 18, 2008
Dear Members,
Last night, I attended the camp fire, it was a night with joy and laughters. I met the happy faces of Wen Shi, Hazel, Elysia, Amanda, Leona, Zee Yee, Yan Ye and quite a number of our MJR students' too. The camp was very successfully organised - it was packed with fun and activities. Not only the campers were happy, the parents too were pleased to see their kids dancing at the camp fire. Some could not help but took the photos of their happy children.
Look at the Camp Master Hanqi and GL Kai Wen, I feel so proud of them and I am very grateful to SBMY that provides opportunities for youths to develop their responsibilities and leadership. Three out of four of the founders of the youth wing are our seniors Ang Hwee, Boon Chai and Liang Jian.
In BIC, we aim at nurturing our members to be responsible and caring leaders. So, all of you will follow the foot steps of your seniors. They can do it, so can you.
We will organise a one-day Buddhist Camp for Sec 1 students on 10 Jan 09 (Sat, 9am to 4 pm). It is a good opportunity for you to build up your teamwork and leadership again. I will update you with more details soon.
In this holidays, I am very touched by you who voluntarily offered your time and effort to help packed and unpacked the stuff in BIC room, designed the noticeboard and gave suggestions for next year's programmes. Thank you very much. I am very pleased to have a team of committed members who always strive to do the best. Our 2 awards from the Sign Language Competition are now on display at the General Office. The more you do the more you will reap. It has been a very fruitful year for all of us.
Christmas is coming. Hope that all of you have a wonderful time in the holidays. Hope that Jia Hui will get well soon.
May you be well and happy :)
With metta,
Mrs Cheng
