Happy New Year to you!

Last night, we attended spiritual countdown at KMSPKS. I went there late and missed out the Da Ma Code activities, not sure what it was about. There was a mini-food fair that sold delicious food. We offered flowers and light to the Buddha, enjoyed the wonderful performance put up by the youths and were led into a blessed 2009 by 108 chimes.

We offered light to the Buddha on behalf of all of you in BIC. We wish that BIC members and our school staff be blessed physically and mentally. After that we went back to the Formless Hall to do our circumambulation of the Buddha (walk round the Buddha's statue slowly in clockwise direction).

Offering of flowers reminds us of impermanance, Offering of light reminds us to overcome ignorance and to develop wisdom, Circumambulation helps us to focus our attention and it is a form of respect. All these practices helps us to grow spiritually and to do it wholehearted, we gain merits.

In 2009, may all of us be Well and Happy.
