    Join the New Hapi Campaign at SBF Vesak Celebrations 2009 / Saturday, March 28, 2009


    Dear members,

    BIC will be putting up performances (2 sign language songs and 1 skit) at 2 time slots on Saturday (25/4/09) : 11 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 3.30 pm.

    We will be having a booth on 25/4/09 and 26/4/09. Members who are interested to man the booth please tag your response so that we can arrange you in shifts.

    Details of Vesak celebration at Ngee Ann City will be as follows:

    This year, the theme Buddhism Benefits You and Me, aims to highlight the benefits of Buddhism, and introduce all the different youth groups/societies/wing to everyone!

    Name: Singapore Buddhist Federation Vesak Celebrations 2009

    Date: Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April 2009

    Time: 10am to 8pm, 9am to 5pm respectively

    Venue: Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, Orchard Rd

    Theme: Buddhist Benefits You and Me

    Other than the usual exhibitions, food fair and stage performances, a new platform, The New Hapi Campaign will bring together the entire Buddhist youth community and share with the public, what happiness is and how they can discover happiness by becoming a Buddhist youth.

    Some of the highlights of The New Hapi Campaign include:

    Institutions of New Hapi

    Consolidated effort to showcase of active Buddhist youth groups in Singapore, including a youth directory, outreach table and poster display.

    Interactive handicraft booth for public to create their very own DIY hapi bunny, learn about 4 new ways to define hapinesss and poll on their favorite!

    Reclaim Your New Happiness - Panel Discussion

    Hear from Mediacorp Artiste Bryan Wong, Venerable Bodhi, Sean Bear and young working professionals on how anyone can unfurl real and lasting happiness to achieve your goals in good and bad times, hosted by Radio 100.3 DJ Huang Wen Hong.

    Hence we hope your youth group can be involved in The New Hapi Campaign and together our synergy will make a difference in this year’s SBF Vesak Celebrations and inspire more youths to practice Buddhism.
