This is an unusual June holidays. Our members have done BIC proud. They participated enthusiastically in the LIONS Camp and showed their leadership in PTF Camp. We have 5 members attended LIONS Camp, 6 members went for PTF Camp, 2 members participated in YBC Camp and 1 member joined BF Camp. Amanda wrote a very good reflections on what she learnt from the camps she attended. The others' reflections are on the way.

I am glad to see that many of you felt inadequate in the knowledge of the Dharma. This is true, but it is not true that you know nothing about it. All the BIC sessions are conducted with underlying Buddhist principles. We learnt to love and care for ourselves and others - this are loving-kindness and compassion. We feel happy for our friends who excelled in different fields - this is Appreciative Joy. We are taught to let go of the negative emotions and learnt to manage stress - this is Equanimity. These are the FOUR IMMEASURABLES - we will gain immeasurable merits if we take good care of our thoughts, our speech and our actions. We are taught not to kill, not to steal but to be responsible for our acts and not to shout at or speak harshly to people around us - these are the precepts that all Buddhists should observe. Although you may not know the actual Buddhist terms, you are all taught important Buddhist values and most importantly - you are already practising them. This makes me feel very proud of you.!

Now that you are ready, let's go for proper Dharma lessons. Cheers!
