BIC session this Thursday 17/9/09 / Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Dear all,
The blog has not been updated for quite some time. We may need more people to post to bring more life to it. Mengkuan's suggestion is very good, thank you.
Please all meet at BIC room this Thursday (at 3 pm) at
BIC room. We will have our tea session and please bring some snacks with you. We will review on this year's programmes and hope to draft out some interesting plans for future activities. All suggestions are welcome.
Please take note that we will have an open house for P6 parents and students on 18 Nov 09.
Amanda, Zhi Yin, Elysia, Hazel, Wen Shi, Regine, Kai Wen, Ms Tan Ai Hua and I will be watching the movie "Buddha Collapsed Out of Shame" on 19 Sep 09 (this Saturday) at Lido 1, Shaw House, 4.30 pm. Tickets will be given to those involved on Thursday's meeting. The tickets are sponsored by Dharma in Action ($81) and BIC ($14). We are very grateful to Dharma-In-Action for their generosity in giving us this opportunity to view the movie.

Directed by
Hana Makhmalbaf. In the village of Bamiyan in Afghanistan where the Taliban destroyed the two giant Buddha statues in 2001, there lives a little little girl who envies her neighbour, the boy next door who goes to school. With a heart of a lion and an entrepreneurial spirit, she sets off to earn herself the proper stationery and a place at school.Sadly, rejected by social norms, and the very teacher she wishes to learn form, she learns the hard way of a woman’s place in society. Worse still, our heroine gets ambushed by a band of boys play-acting the Taliban. What will they do to her and her notebook? The empty sites where the Buddhas once stood watches in silenceYou can watch the trailer at http://www.thisfilmfest.com/films.html#bcThat's all for today. See you on Thursday.

Mrs Cheng
